Touched by Colour

 Here is an easy  turorial that will give maxium effect!!!! 

 I have also done the same set but changed the silver to gold and added red to the tip instead of being all black.  Click on the link below to view the photo:

Once you have placed your form apply a thin layer of base gel, cure for two minutes, apply an even coverage of black gel and cure for a further two minutes.   Do not wipe off sticky layer.

Now apply a small Polka Dot.  You may find that the sticky layer isn't enough to hold it in place so pick up a small wet bead of clear acrylic and place it down and then put the Polka Dot on top.

Next, place a piece of Raspberry Mylar on the tip.  Raspberry Mylar on black will actually turn electric blue!!!!

With a clean dry brush apply silver glitter.  Once again the tacky layer of the gel will hold the glitter in place.

When you are happy with your creation, cap the entire free edge with clear acrylic, file into shape and finish off with a gel top coat.

The finished set!!!!!!

 This can be done with any colour but I love the Young Nails Neon Kit!!!!

With your brush pick up small beads of your chosen colour  and place onto free edge.

The beads must be dry for two reasons.  Firstly you dont want the acrylic running around the tip everywhere and secondly the beads must be fairly high.

Place as many balls as you want in various sizes - remember - dry high beads!!!!

Next, the ugly, messy stage.  Apply black over the entire free edge.  Ensure that all the acrylic beads are covered and the black fills in all gaps.  It helps to work with a slightly wet ratio.

When you are satisfied that the free edge is covered, allow to dry and start filing into shape.  As you file down the black your coloured beads will start to show through the black.  This is the reason why your beads must be kept dry and high.  If they aren't high enough you will not get the colour coming through the black acrylic properly.

 Experiment eith different colours and ball size.

For those of you who asked for it :)

Firstly lay a base of metallic cream down

Around the smile line use I use a mixture of neon and metallic pinks with a touch of black and fade it down towards the free edge

I then used a mixture of metallic pink and cream

Then with the mixed that was applied around the smile I placed by spots

Then with the metallic cream I faded over the top of the pink spots


Once all the spots have been done I used black gel around the outside - you could also use acrylic paint


Then I capped the designed and applied a gel top coat


Thats all there is too it!!!  Just remember you cant make a mistake with this design, even at its messiest it still looks fantastic.  You can do this design in any colour!!!!

In this design I have used a mixture of powders, glitters and media -

• Metallic Blue Powder
• Neon Blue Powder
• Neon Yellow Powder
• Diamond Dust
• Orange Powder
• Raspberry Mylar
• Dark Green Glitter
• Poka Dots
• Shelly
• Shimmering Sand Glitter
• Netting 

This design can be done using any colours and media - so knock yourself out and enjoy!!!

Step One

 Apply Metallic Blue around the smile line and fade down

Step Two

 Apply orange and blue and overlay netting while acrylic is still wet.  Do no press too hard as you want to keep the netting on top of the colour and not sitting into the colour.

Step 3

Apply Diamond dust over the top of the metallic blue and fade down.

Step 4

 Place a bead of clear acrylic down and place pieces of Shelly down.

Step 5

 Place a bead of neon yellow down and pat into desired shape. 

Step 6

If you find that things are starting to look messy and your colours aren't blending in well or sitting next to each other as tidy as you would like, this is where you start putting more glitter down. Lay Green Glitter down to tidy up the lines between the blue and yellow and to fill in gaps that are still empty.  The apply Shimmering Sand above the yellow and fade up towards the smile line.

Step 7

Lay down another wet bead of clear acrylic and place a silver polka dot on top.

Step 8

Lay down another bead of clear acrylic on the yellow and place pieces of raspberry mylar down.

Then cap your design, file and apply a coat of finish gel.
